About the Event
An evening of volcanic discoveries, fascinating science and exceptional wines🍷🌋
What connects a volcano to the wine in your glass?
Join us at Small Print in Perth’s CBD to explore the stories behind wines from volcanic regions.
Enjoy four guided wine tastings, interspersed with short talks on volcanic landscapes, wine and nutrition, with finger food served throughout.
Whether you are a wine enthusiast, curious about science or simply looking for a different kind of evening, you are welcome: no specialist knowledge required!
Meet your presenters:
Dr Rosa Didonna, volcanologist and geoscientist, will introduce the volcanoes associated with the selected wines, drawing on her research from Italy to New Zealand, Indonesia and the Caribbean.
Professor Mario Siervo, Professor of Human Nutrition and Physiology at Curtin University, will explore wine’s place within nutrition and modern health recommendations.
Alessandro Vero, human nutrition specialist and President of the Dante Alighieri Society of WA, will contribute insights into wine, food culture and its place at the table.
Cristiano Fraulini, wine and hospitality professional with over 30 years of industry experience, is coordinating the wine selection and will introduce selected wines during the tasting.
