Francesca, an artist from Sardinia, creates pieces inspired by the stunning natural beauty of the La Maddalena archipelago. Her ceramics blend functionality with artistic expression, featuring organic shapes and intricate textures made using lace, plants, textiles, and hand-carved woodblock imprints.

Since arriving in Australia, Francesca discovered a surprising connection between Western Australia’s flora and the Mediterranean plants of her hometown. She gathers familiar plants, imprinting them into clay to craft unique botanical-inspired ceramics. Her passion for experimenting with new techniques and materials keeps her designs fresh and exciting.

What started as a childhood fascination with pottery in Tuscany blossomed into a lifelong passion. After years of studying and practicing, Francesca launched Fra’s Ceramics, sharing her work in Fremantle through workshops, local markets, and online. She continues to inspire others with her artistry, offering pottery courses and botanical pottery workshops in her private studio.
